What's your resolution?

I don't know, but for some reason this year I have very concrete resolutions that I want to stick with. Many of them have to do with cleaning up; my diet, my house, my garage, my paperwork....and lightening up; my weight, my mind, and spirit. I wonder why I feel so motivated this year?.....perhaps it's because I have one year till 50 and I feel like I need to get a move on.

What New Year's resolutions are in your heart? Will you keep them? Are you committed? In many ways, it's simply just time for a change. I wish you luck.....I wish me luck...but I guess luck is not really what we need. t's desire, commitment and the ability to stick to a goal...keep your eye on the prize. So here's to a cleaner house, healthier body, leaner look, and a laser like resolution to get you there. Happy New Year!!!

Summer Snacking Tips from Barbara Ann Grova

Q: How do I keep away from my kids snacks during the crazy summer days when regular meals don't happen?
A: No one enjoys cooking in the heat of summer. Both kids and parents are out and about and having a set meal time becomes more difficult. You find yourself nibbling at whatever is available. The important thing to do is Plan Ahead:
Buy fresh fruit and vegetables to cut up and store in the refrigerator for easy snacking and finger foods for kids.
Steer clear of buying packaged snacks with added sugars, fats and calories.
Serve cold foods in the summer. Smoothies are real quick and easy to make and nutritious too. Smoothie ice pops are a great treat! Email us for Barbara's Yummy Smoothie Recipes! nutritionheals@optonline.net
Snacking throughout the day is good for your body. It keeps your blood sugar levels steady and your metabolism balanced. But make sure that they are healthy choices for you and the kids!

Nutritionist Barbara Ann Grova

So I am at a bar b que...the usual talk....life moves on....first it was babies, kids, talk of teens, divorces, gossip, progressing to current talk which is starting to gravitate towards aches, pains, and hot flashes. What a drag! How'd this happen so quick? It seems only yesterday that I was using my big sisters baptismal certificate to get into a bar (the drinking age was 18 so don't even ask how old I was...and thank god my kids don't read this blog LOL). Fast forward 3 decades and boom...sneaking into bars has been replaced with sneaking a nap in the afternoon. Oh brother!!!

Anyway, one of the bar-b-que guests starts talking about how she was having horrible peri menopausal symptoms with no relief from numerous doctors. She felt horrible and was so frustrated. Even her family started thinking that it was all in her head....but she didn't give up on herself....she started researching and found professionals who used natural methods to ease her discomfort. She was raving about her nutritionist who she loved and said helped to bring her life back to normal. I never heard anyone talk so passionately about their nutritionist. Who could this magician/wonder woman be? Our very own Barbara Ann Grova!!!

Well last week, a friend of mine called with complaints of "mid life" ailments. I immediately knew where to send her. Ladies, this is some very valuable information. When menopausal symptoms hit you like a ton of bricks....make sure you have this contact info ready. Combining knowledge and professionalism with kindness and understanding, Barbara Ann Grova is just what we need, just when we need it. Visit her page to learn more!
